Holimont Skiing
Grab your skis, tablecloth, crockpot and candelabra and hunker down at the main chalet at Holimont. Excellent skiing. Primo Apres.
North America’s largest private ski area. Truly a flashback in time to ski lodges of old. Members usually start setting up for lunch around 11 o’clock on busy Saturdays. Although there is local food service for lunch (an outpost for Dina’s restaurant - awesome menu!) many members bring their own lunches. You can also bring your own booze into the club but there are beers for sale.
Apres Ski parties happen most Saturdays at the main chalet from 4-6, usually with live music.
If you are a guest of a member, make sure to bring your photo ID when to get your ski pass. During the weekdays, Holimont is open to the public.
If you’re skiing with the littles or a beginner, hit the chipmunk left just uphill right of the club for some practice runs and practice loading on the chairlift. Feel free to ask the lift operator to slow the chair down for the kids.
Uphill right, hit Sunset run in the afternoon for great views and easy sunny skiing with the softest snow. The magic carpet is also at the base of this run. You can take the shuttle over from the club. Take the exhibition high speed lift up and head left to a more challenging Cascade run and Greer to get great views of town!
Follow any local kid and they’ll probably cut through the trees and show you some secret paths. And ask them where the warming hut is at the top of the hill! Skier and boarder friendly families.
