Beaches

You'll have your pick of beaches on Martha's Vineyard, no doubt about it.

From the protected, shallow surf on the northern and eastern coasts of the island to the big waves crashing on the south side. Our shorelines offer a little something for everyone.

South Beach (also known as Katama Beach) is one of the best. You can bike from Edgartown on a path that leads straight to the sand.

If you're on Chappaquikkick you will want to stop at East Beach on the Wasque Reservation. It's a bit of a trek however this stretch of sand is relatively untouched, quiet and remote.

Got kids in tow? Lobsterville Beach and Joseph Sylvia State Beach are two that provide great swimming waves and gentle tides.
