Jacques-Imo’s
Will and I stumbled upon this place after seeing it on the Food Network in 1996. Unbeknownst even to most of the locals… we went in for dinner.
Jacque greeted us and directed us to a bar that was the size of a door and made our cocktails in swirly summer plastic cups – none of them matched. Dinner was amazing and it immediately became our favorite place to eat. Expect a rowdy group. Reservations are must – if over 5 people! If under 5 people… you will wait but the wait will be fun! Try to reserve the back of the truck if you can – it’s parked in front. You can’t go wrong with anything you order here – Just swallow’it down with an Abita Amber.
A complimentary house salad with a fried oyster atop will get your taste buds craving more! Will and I like: To Start: Fried Tomatoes, Shrimp & Alligator Sausage Cheesecake & Garlic Snails – Main Event: Stuffed Mirliton, Grilled Duck Breast, Paneed Rabbit & Austin Leslie’s Fried Chicken
