The Columns

A Nola native took us to The Columns for the first time back in 1997 to kick off Mardi Gras with a Bloody Mary.

It was one of the best Bloody Marys I’ve ever had.

Built in 1883, this Garden District hotel, restaurant and bar is located on St. Charles Avenue and an easy street car ride. I’ll never forget the night Princess Diana died… The Columns was packed – everyone having a great time – and moments later the entire bar retreated to the Victorian lounge across the hall as we watched CNN on a small television.

The Columns is so beautiful and oozes history. They have an amazing brunch as well with a gorgeous patio and courtyard.
