Pat O’Briens

Pat O’Briens first became a legitimate drinking establishment in 1933 just after the prohibition.

In the mid 1940’s, Pat O’Brien launched a drink called the Hurricane due to the access of rum coming up the river. You must venture into the Piano Lounge to take part in the dueling pianos! My dad first took me to Pat O’Briens when I was touring Tulane… I thought it was very cool as he ordered a hurricane for himself and a squall for me! We sang and sang and sang… a trip I will never forget!
