Built twenty-five years after the Sistine Chapel, The Borghese Chapel was built twenty-five years after the Sistine Chapel. Once in the Basiilica of St. Mary Major you cannot miss this magnificent chapel.

Revered for a good strong life. You will see signs of the Baroque movement throughout the chapel. Inside the grand altar, that was donated by Princess Agnese Colonna Borghese, sits a sculpture that will take your breath away. Above you will marvel at the saints in the sky and the moon under the feet of the Mother of God… seen through Galileo’s telescope.

A myriad of artists took part in the paintings and sculptures. Truly extraordinary.
